The Litchfield Community Center will hold a program on the ethics of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Tuesday December 10 at 10 am. YMCA

The Winsted YMCA operates an emergency shelter for men, women and children experiencing homelessness in and around the Litchfield County Area. For more information call 2-1-1.

Torrington Salvation Army

The Salvation Army, Torrington Corps Community Center provides a food pantry for residents of Goshen and Torrington. Proof of income and expenses is required. Pantry hours are Tuesday and Thursday 10 am-2 pm. For more information, call 860-482-3569.

Friendly Hands Food Bank

Friendly Hands Food Bank, located at 50 King Street, Torrington, is a food pantry serving residents of Northwest Connecticut. Pantry hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 9 am to 3 pm; Wednesday: 10 am to 3 pm; Friday: 9  am to 12 pm; closed Saturday and Sunday. More information at (860) 482-3338. 

Friends in Service to Humanity of Northwest Connecticut (FISH)

The Mission of FISH is to provide the most basic of human needs…food, shelter and hope. They operate a 35-bed emergency shelter in Torrington that accepts single adults and families with children. Five beds are dedicated to veterans. The FISH Shelter Program provides supportive services and case management to residents with the goal of finding permanent supportive housing. Anybody seeking shelter in Connecticut should call 211 for placement.
 
The FISH Food Pantry provides supplemental food to our neighbors in need. Open hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 3pm and Friday from 10am to 2pm or by appointment by calling 860-482-7300. The address is 332 South Main Street, Torrington. The Food Pantry entrance is at their Brooker Street parking lot.

New Hartford’s Little Food Pantry

New Hartford’s Little Free Food Pantry is open 24/7 at St. John’s Episcopal Church on the Pine Meadow Green. More information at 860 379-3062. 

Town of Burlington

The Town of Burlington’s food pantry for town residents is open every other Tuesday from 9:30 am to 11:00 am and by emergency appointment by calling (860) 550-5415. 

Town of Thomaston

The Town of Thomaston’s community pantry serves town residents with identification and is open every third Wednesday from 5 pm to 5 pm and the following Saturday from 9 am to 10 am. More information at 860 880-2426.
