Why did you pick that name for your program?
“Our focus is on putting local Lions and their clubs in front of our community.”
What can listeners expect on “Lion Around Connecticut”?
“Our listeners will learn more about what their local Lions are doing in their community from service projects to fundraisers to serve their communities better. In 1925, Helen Keller was the keynote speaker at our first International Convention and charged us to be Knights of the Blind. When there isn’t an interview in the studio, we air music from Lions who produce their own music and from blind musicians such as Stevie Wonder, Ray Charle, Jeff Healey, and more.”
What do you hope to accomplish with “Lion Around Connecticut”?
“That listeners become motivated and support their local Lions Clubs.”
How long has your program been on the air at WAPJ?
“Since 2011.”
If listeners could learn one thing about you, what would that be?
“Where there is a need there is a Lion is not just a motto to us.”
Is there anything else you’d like to share with your listeners?
“If you tune in to Lion Around Connecticut, and we are talking about an event, come out and support us! We need more members to help more people in our community!”
How can listeners contact you?
“You can interact with us by emailing us at pjec16@yahoo.com.”
